Otari MTR-10 Please rate this member post based on how interesting & informative Good photographs and lots of accurate, interesting information deserves 8 - 10. The Otari MTR-10 is a fully microprocessor controlled 1/4" tape recorder. Tape movement is governed by a proven 8080A microprocessor on the recorder's plug in CPU board. Enhancing the CPU, four erasable, programmable read-only memories (EPROMs) furnish the necessary firmware for controlling the machine's operating parameters and production.

Recently I bought a MTR-10-2 knowing ahead of time the situation with the extender card. I have been told original ones can be pricey and don't really want to spend more on a simple PCB with an edge connector than the Otari itself.. Not sure MTR-10 is best option and it is impossible to say virtual value if machine is not seen and tested (it is possible maybe for Studer A80 but not Otari) so it depends. But better search for working MTR-15 (Dolby Hx Pro, 4 kind factory head block memory + many memory options, auto calibration and so on).
