Also, the G7 seems to calibrate to the number that's entered or really close to that number. So either Dexcom changed the algorithm or my G6 worked incorrectly possibly. Not sure, but other than my first res sensors so far most have been ok thankfully. The score chart doesn't seem as smooth, but the accuracy does seem better for the most part.. Under Entry Type select, Use as Calibration ; Enter the Blood glucose meter value (be sure to enter this value within 5 minutes of sticking your finger). Calibration best practices. ⚠️ Calibrating your Dexcom G7 with a fingerstick meter is not required. Calibration can help make the Dexcom G7 more accurate, and it should bring the G7.
Because of this, the Dexcom G6 reading (G6 reading) and meter value are unlikely to be exactly the same number, but they should be close. Compare the meter and your Dexcom G6 to see how closely the numbers match each other: if your G6 reading and meter value are within what we call the 20 rule (also known as the %20/20 rule), they match closely.. *Please note: Your sensor readings come from different fluids than your BG meter values, so the two usually won't match. Neither number is as accurate as the lab test your healthcare provider performs. For more information on accuracy and calibrating your Dexcom G7, refer to the Accuracy and Calibration section of the Dexcom G7 User Guide.
